  11. I have an idea for communicating with the A2386SX Bridgeboard (or others
  12. with similar communication) via TCP/IP.

  14. SOFTWARE:
  15.   What we need is an Amiga SANA-II device driver that can communicate
  16.   with the Bridgeboard through the Zorro-II bus.  On the PC side we
  17.   would need the corresponding network driver.
  18.  
  19. BENEFITS:
  20. This would allow great flexibility in utilizing the Bridgeboard.  The
  21. machines would be networked together without requiring any additional
  22. hardware, but would gain all of the benefits.

  24. For example, the A2386SX bridgeboard does not have a way to utilize the
  25. serial port on the Amiga.  If the two were networked together, the Amiga
  26. could be connected to the Internet via CSLIP/PPP/etc. and the PC could
  27. then route through the Amiga and communicate with the Internet.  You
  28. could run NetScape on the PC, communicate with the world AND be able to
  29. browse the web pages found on your own Amiga!

  31. Having a full-blown network interface between the Bridgeboard and the
  32. Amiga would open a whole new world of communication possibilities.  It
  33. sure beats the heck out of AREAD/AWRITE!

  35. I'm sure this is feasible.  If the PC harddisk can be emulated through
  36. Janus, a TCP/IP socket should be equally feasible.  I have the docs on
  37. Janus (on my Amiga), but my Warp Engine SCSI had a meltdown and I have
  38. no idea when I will get it back from being repaired... which makes it
  39. tough to review Janus!

  41. So what kind of interest is there?  This project would require knowledge
  42. of SANA-II device drivers, PC network interface drivers, and the Janus
  43. Bridgeboard interface.  Currently I have no information on SANA-II.
